After a heartbreaking loss by 3 points in the Southland Conference tournament final, the McNeese Mens Basketball Team will play in the NIT Tournament Tuesday night and host the 1st round game in the Burton Coliseum.

McNeese State has accepted an invitation to play in the NIT basketball tournament and the Cowboys will also host, entertaining Boston College out of the ACC.

The game will be played Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Burton Coliseum. Tickets are currently on sale online, and can be purchased at the ticket office Monday from 8:00am - 7:00pm, or Tuesday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. Fans can go online at www.mcneesesports.com or can call the ticket office at 337-562-4MSU.

Season ticket holders will have until 7 p.m. Monday to claim their same seats for the game. After that those tickets will go on sale to the general public.

Ticket prices are $15 for reserved, $10 for general admission and $5 for students (including McNeese State students).

The Cowboys, the champions of the Southland Conference, will go into the game with a 21-11 overall record. Boston College, which finished fourth in the ACC, is 20-12.

McNeese will be making its third appearance in the NIT and the Cowboys have a 1-2 mark in the tournament. Boston College will be making its 11th appearance and is 16-11 in tournament play.

Boston College is the No. 1 seed in one of four regional pairings of the tournament and the Cowboys are the No. 8 seed.

"It's exciting for us to be playing in the NIT and to also be playing a team out of the ACC right here in Burton Coliseum," said Cowboy head coach Dave Simmons.

Airtime for this game will be at 745pm Tuesday right here on Cajun Radio 147- & 1290 am's.  The game WILL NOT be streamed over the web.
