On Tuesday, February 6, 2018 the City of Lake Charles will host a public meeting for all property owners, whose business operations will be affected, along the 2018 Mardi Gras parade route. The meeting will be held at 9 a.m., in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 326 Pujo St.

City officials will address a variety of Mardi Gras Holiday topics such as, the Do's and Don'ts, where to put port-a-can and dumpsters, where the police command center will be located, and parking restrictions in the downtown area.

All property owners along the parade route will receive cardboard trash boxes, with plastic liners, courtesy of the City of Lake Charles and Waste Management. Property owners are asked to place the trash boxes along the public right-of-way, along Ryan Street, and to collect only the trash left on their property. City trash crews will start picking up the boxes at 7 a.m. and all parade debis the following morning (Wednesday February 14.)

Below is the 2018 Mardi Gras Parade Schedule for The City of Lake Charles 

***Thursday, February 8Lighted Boat Parade, begins at 7 p.m. behind the Civic Center, on the lake.

Friday, February 9 - The Merchants’ Parade is schedule for 7 p.m.

***Saturday, February 10 - Krewe of Omega Parade starts at 2 p.m. on North side of Civic Center, to Broad St. heading East, to Enterprise Blvd, turning left on Enterprise, to Mill St., then left on Mill St. heading back to Civic Center, where it ends.

***Saturday, February 10 - The Krewe of Barkus Parade will begin at 3 p.m. behind the Civic Center, on the Lakefront Promenade.

Sunday, February 11 - The Children’s Parade is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

***Fat Tuesday, February 13 - Second Line Stroll Walking Parade begins at 1 p.m., followed by the Jeeps on Parade at 2 p.m. These two parades will travel down Ryan Street, from Mill Street, to Sallier Street where they'll end.

***Fat Tuesday, February 13 -The Motor Gras Parade begins at 3 p.m. and will start at the Mill and Ryan Street intersection, then turn left and head South to Sale Road, where it'll end.

Fat Tuesday, February 13 - The Krewe of Krewes Parade will begin at 5 p.m.

All of the above parades (unless noted ***,) will start at the North end of Bord du Lac Drive, crossover Lakeshore Drive, onto W. Mill Street, turn right on Ryan Street, and continue South on Ryan, to Sale Road where they end.
