Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, all focus is now the Christmas season and awaiting the man in the big red suit making his appearance soon.

The City of Lake Charles has announced that their annual Christmas festival called "Light Up The Lake" will take place this Saturday December 3rd downtown at the Civic Center.

The festivities kick off at 11:00 am with the street parade.  Then the action moves inside for Santa's workshop from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm complete with games, prizes, candy, contests, train rides, face painting, fun jumps and more!

Then from 3:30 to 4:30 pm inside the Lake Charles Civic Center on the 2nd Floor Mezzanine, the Lake Charles Community Band will hold their Christmas Concert.

Santa's workshop and concert will then be followed by the lighting ceremony from 5-6 pm on the Civic Center front steps.

Then the big finale will be the lighted boat parade at 6:15 pm on the lake front and then the big fireworks extravaganza at 7:15 p.m.
