I had the amazing opportunity to interview Miss Louisiana and lifelong Lake Charles resident, Bethany Trahan. She's a pageant prodigy of sorts, only starting to compete in them two years ago. She placed 3rd in her first Miss Louisiana contest and, of course, was crowned as the 2016 Miss Louisiana.

Bethany also has an powerful personal story. She suffers from depression and anxiety that forced her into a very dark place in her life only a few years ago. She found her saving grace in her family and pageants. She is currently a very active member of NAMI - The National Alliance For Mental Illness - and uses her platform to spread awareness of the dangers of depression and anxiety. If she is crowned as Miss USA, she plans on spreading her message on a national level.

The Miss USA pageant is this Sunday, May 14th at 7pm on FOX!

In our interview with Bethany below, we talk about her personal story, her training regimen to get ready for Miss USA, the competition level of Miss USA, and more. She also has a special inspiring message for all who are listening!

Be sure to go vote for Bethany here.
