Lake Charles, La. - The 2016 Business Summit and Showcase returns for it’s 5th year at the Lake Charles Civic Center, 900 North Lakeshore Drive, Thursday, November 10, and it’s FREE!

This years City of Lake Charles hosted event is a two part theme “Shaping Our Economic Future,” that will consist of a business certification training and a business summit and showcase "that will address various relevant topics.”

Participants will have the chance to have one-on-one discussions with industry representatives, banks, purchasing agents, and more at various booths that will be featured at the event. Jo Ann Lawrence (U.S. Small Business Administration), and John Matthews from Louisiana Economic Development (LED) will also be guest speakers at the event.

The Summit will also provide a great opportunity for small and emerging contractors to improve their businesses in the area of the 4C’s of business – credit, capital, capacity, and credibility, which are four major areas of focus highly considered by project owners, banks, insurance, and surety companies. A review of various Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs will also be highlighted for attendees, said a City of Lake Charles Press Release.
