2015 CMA Awards– Who Will Win?
The stars of country music will be shining brightly next week (Wed, Nov 4th), and some more than others, when the winners of the 2015 CMA Awards are announced in Nashville. Just being nominated is a big deal for many of these folks, and there were several surprises when the nominees were announced in September.
I've looked at the list of nominees. I have my favorites. I know, from a thousand miles away and only based on what and who I personally like, who I believe deserves the award. I'm sure you do, too!
Here are my picks for what I call "the big ones:"
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR
Kenny Chesney-- Kenny released The Big Revival this year. It featured some great songs that hit radio and the charts: "American Kids," "Til It's Gone," "Wild Child." He also took his tour of the same name all over the country. As a matter of fact, it began on his 47th birthday in March! Add to that the fact that Kenny is a fantastic entertainer. He really is great in concert. I'd like to see him win.
FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR
Miranda Lambert-- Her Platinum album rocks, in the way that country music does. It's that simple.
MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR
Blake Shelton-- He truly is the busiest man in country music, and he still manages to belt out some of the most amazing tunes. In 2015, he gave us "Neon Light," "Sangria," and "Lonely Tonight." Your ears know when Blake is singing, and you can't help but smile.
VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR
Maddie & Tae-- I'd just like to see these two sweet young ladies who really have beautiful voices and have made awesome songs get the award.
VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR
Little Big Town-- I didn't even have think about that one. Do you know they've been together since 1998? Yeah, they've been paying their dues for 17 years! They deserve all the success they are having. And they are phenomenal!
NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Thomas Rhett-- This is another one I don't have to think about. I can't express in words how much I love this guy. He writes. He sings. I've had the pleasure of seeing him a couple of times in concert. He has so much energy! He is incredibly passionate about the music and the fans. I heart Thomas Rhett!
I won't even attempt to pick the songs or singles or videos. I like too many of them! I am truly a country music fan. I enjoy it all. Good luck to all the artists!
The CMA Awards will air live on Wednesday, November 4th, on ABC from Nashville. The hosts of the show will be Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
