UPS Launches ‘Big Brown Cares’ Water Drive For St. Joseph, LA. Water Crisis
Last year Gov. John Bel Edwards declared the town of St. Joseph, La. was in the midst of a Public Health Emergency, after lead and copper was found in their water supply. The governor announced that state testing revealed elevated levels of lead and copper were discovered in a town hall building, as well as various private residences in the town of 1,100. Basically, these poor people don't have tap water to drink, cook or bath with. So drivers at UPS are stepping up in hopes of making a difference by launching the "Big Brown Cares" water drive. On April 1, 2017, please come out and donate as much bottled water as you can. Our Louisiana neighbors need our help.
Water donations will be collected in front of the Super Walmart on Nelson Road, from 9am to 3pm. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. Checks can be made out to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, c/o Saint Joseph.
