MIAMI (AP) - Forecasters say Tropical Storm Don has formed in the southern Gulf of Mexico and its track over the next several days shows that it's headed toward southeastern Texas.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Wednesday that it doesn't appear the storm will strengthen into a hurricane.

Forecasters say maximum sustained winds are at 40 mph (65 kph). The center of the storm is about 755 miles (1215 kilometers) east-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas.

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.

It's moving to the WNW at 12 mph. The National Hurricane Center believes watches or warnings may be necessary for the Texas coastline either tonight or Thursday.

Tune in tomorrow morning where Rob Robin will have the latest on Don at 7am.
