Texas Restricts Travel From Louisiana – Arrivals To Quarantine
Similar to actions recently taken by the state of Florida, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered Louisiana residents traveling into Texas to self-quarantine for 14 days. State troopers will be stopping travelers along roadways entering the state.
Violators could face a $1,000 fine or 180 days in jail.
In addition to Louisiana, the governor has added anyone traveling into the state from Miami, Detroit, Atlanta, and Chicago into quarantine along with all travelers flying in from California and Washington state.
Essential traffic, such as commercial shipping and emergency vehicles will still be allowed, as well as those attending to infrastructure duties.
Previously, Governor Abbot ordered anyone flying into Texas from New Orleans into quarantine in addition to travelers from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
