Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys

The Iowa Rabbit Festival kicks off their 27th year tonight and they are doing it in a big way.  Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie will be performing live tonight starting at 8:00 p.m. Here is the lineup for the rest of the weekend!

It's almost that time again. The 2013 Iowa Rabbit Festival is coming your way this Thursday, March 14th thru Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at the Iowa City Park grounds. This year's festival is full of great food and awesome entertainment.

Last year, he received a Grammy nomination for his latest album 'Grand Isle", and this year he has been nominated for another Grammy award along with Wayne Toups and Wilson Savoy for the Band Courtbouillon.

The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana has  partnered with the City of Lake Charles to bring  a brand new music festival that will celebrate the newly renovated Lakefront Promenade. Live @ the Lakefront is being held at the Arcade Amphitheater at the Civic Center.  There are only two left.  This Friday, March 23rd and the last one is March 30th.  The event is from 6 p.m. to 10

While there's no longer a Cajun/Zydeco award in the Grammy lineup (which we totally disagree with), the artform was well-represented in the new "Regional Roots" category at the 2012 Grammy Awards on Sunday.  And while neither of the Cajun/Zydeco nominees took the award home, a Grammy still came back to Louisiana courtesy of the Rebirth Brass Band.

It's Mardi Gras time in Southwest Louisiana and I thought it was time for our first Mardi Gras music video! I found one of Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys jamming out to "La Danse De Mardi Gras"

The nominations are out for the 2012 Grammys and Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys have been nominated under the "Best Regional Roots Music Album" category for the album "Grand Isle".
