For a lot of people ... a day off means celebrating with great food and a drink or two. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't drive after the drinks. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department is doing their part to keep our roads safe this holiday weekend with DWI checkpoints.

Yesterday we posted a story about a TV thief. He made off with a couple of big screens from Sam's. He got away but his picture has been featured on all local media including this web site. He is very popular now ... and very BUSTED!

So do you know this man? Did he invite you over to watch the game on his new big screen TV? That is one party you might want to miss; it could be raided by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

The first thing I did after reading the story was look to see if Jezebel is another one of those parody sites. Those are sites that basically just make up stories and say they do it for entertainment. If you ask me they are just liars. I found no parody claims at this site. They make some very strong accusations and possibly a strong argument that the eight unsolved murders were committed to cover

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department has made an additional three arrest as they investigate a purse snatching ring operating in Lake Charles.

Seven days into the year Sulphur has it's first traffic fatality. Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's deputies responded to a call at about 4:15 this morning and found a truck resting on it's passenger side.
