We have been very lucky this Hurricane season and keep your fingers crossed that this pattern holds. There is a storm just beginning to cross the Atlantic that looks like it could form into a tropical system.

It would seem that (once again) Southwest Louisiana has dodged the tropical bullet. This must come as a shock to those irresponsible web weather prognosticators that earlier this week were predicting a Labor Day weekend hurricane here. Earlier this week I saw several facebook post warning the Gulf coast about a hurricane next weekend...

We have been lucky so far this Hurricane Season. It looks like our luck will hold with Tropical Storm Bertha.

Well here we are only six days into the 2014 Hurricane season and we could be looking at our first storm. Wasn't this supposed to be a year when El Nino affected our weather and hindered hurricanes?

We now have a tropical storm in the  Gulf of Mexico. The winds have been clocked at sixty miles per hour. The question is what will this storm do next?

We have been watching this area of low pressure for a few days as it moved through the Caribbean Sea. NOAA is now predicting it will enter the Gulf of Mexico later this week.

This is the most tropical activity we have seen so far this year. To this point  mother nature has spared us ... unless you have vacationed in Cancun at the wrong time this year.

Saturday we had no tropical waves in the Atlantic or gulf. This morning we have two and one has a decent chance of development. Here are the details

The first of these tropical waves is out in the Atlantic  (about 450 miles east of the Lesser Antilles). The other one is just moving off the coast of Africa..

You know how it works. Everyday we watch the storms path extended eastward. As the path is extended we learn more about the storms destination. The last extension on Dorian shows the storm could impact the gulf.

The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season starts today and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released their predictions for the upcoming season. Here are the predictions and ways to be prepared for this upcoming hurricane season.

Sometime in the middle of next week, Tropical Storm Ernesto will likely be making landfall on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico -- but exactly where is still a mystery.  And while Ernesto is throwing out winds of around 50 mph this morning, it's still uncertain at this hour just how strong he'll become.
