McNeese State

Every year during the football season, McDonald's of Southwest Louisiana has a pancake breakfast in the Cowboy room to raise scholarship funds for McNeese Athletics.  This year they raised over $5,000.

The McNeese Cowboys baseball team and head coach Terry Burrows have released their 2012 schedule and immediately one game in particular stood out. The Cowboys will host the LSU Tigers in Lake Charles at Cowboys Diamond for the first time since 1998.

The McNeese Cowboys homecoming game will be Saturday October 22nd against Sam Houston at Cowboys Stadium at 7pm. The University has announced the information for the McNeese homecoming parade that runs down Ryan Street on Thursday October 20th. It's just one thing going on in a week chopped full of events. Football practice is in full swing and the Cowboys hit the field yesterday for there first practice in full gear.

It's in the air!  Football is on its way!  The McNeese Cowboys Football team have already been picked by the Southland coaches to win the Conference and now they have been ranked 13th in the country in the FCS.

You can tell that Football is coming soon because college media days is upon us.  LSU had the SEC Media day last week and now its the Southland Conference and McNeese Cowboys turn. The 2011 Southland Conference football media event begins Tuesday at the L'Auberge du Lac resort in Lake Charles with McNeese State serving as the host school.

The Cowgirls had to fight off the horrible calls in this game, but managed to get through it with a one point win! They will play at the Southland Conference Tournament on Tuesday evening at 6pm. I guess the great state of Texas didn't realize that we here in SWLA celebrate Mardi Gras...
