Labor Day

Louisiana beach lovers, this destination boasts some of the cheapest beachfront rentals in the nation. And it's a shorter drive than Orange Beach or Biloxi.

As the city anticipates a 3-day weekend going into the Labor Day holiday Monday, we have been informed that there will be no trash picked up. While this may be an inconvenience to some, this is normal practice in not only Calcasieu Parish, but various parishes and cities around the country take this day into consideration for their employees to enjoy a little time off...

Here we are headed into the Labor Day weekend and it looks to be Tropical Weather free for us. There is a system of disturbed weather moving over Florida though.

Today is Labor day which means that the late legendary Zydeco music artist Boozoo Chavis Labor Festival will be held today in Lake Charles. The festival is usually held on Dog Hill which was the Chavis family land but has now moved to the Lake Charles Civic Center.
