Hurricanes

Hurricane season is in full swing and the Caribbean is churning with tropical storm Isaac.  Tropical storm Isaac is forecast to become a hurricane by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. We checked in with Chief meteorologist Wade Hampton from KPLC for the latest update.

It's August and the height of Hurricane season.  Reports are out now that Tropical Depression #9 has formed in the Atlantic and the forecast is for it to become a Tropical storm by this afternoon and a hurricane by Thursday. Here is the storms current location and 5 day forecast below.

Sometime in the middle of next week, Tropical Storm Ernesto will likely be making landfall on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico -- but exactly where is still a mystery.  And while Ernesto is throwing out winds of around 50 mph this morning, it's still uncertain at this hour just how strong he'll become.

Today is the Anniversary of Hurricane Audrey making landfall in Louisiana on this day in 1957.  A lot of people lost there lives, property and there way of life. On this day the anniversary of Hurricane Audrey, I thought i would share with you guys the history behind Audrey from how it formed to its strengthening to its landfall and aftermath.
