The McNeese State Cowboys football team beat Northwestern State 43-17 last Saturday night in Cowboys Stadium to improve to 9-2 on the season and 5-1 in Southland Conference play. With the win, the Cowboys jumped three spots in both the Sports Network and FCS Coaches' Top 25 polls this week.

After starting the season at 4-0, the McNeese Cowboys stumbled over the weekend losing to the University of Northern Iowa 41-6.  The loss now has the cowboys at a 4-1 overall record and they fell in both FCS polls that were released this week.

After a real nail biter last Saturday, The McNeese Cowboys have made another jump in the polls.  The Cowboys beat West Alabama with 45 seconds left in the game to come out victorious 44-42 and with doing so, they are inching up in the two major polls.
