Cajun Radio will be out at the Lake Charles Civic Center tonight around 7:00 p.m. for the original Downtown Lake Charles Crawfish Festival.

Cajun Radio is celebrating nine years of being on the air full time 24 hours a day playing Cajun, Swamp Pop and Zydeco music only. It was a dream of my dad Dave Soileau's and I to have a full time 24 hour a day Cajun Radio station and nine years ago it happened.  Here is a little history about Dad and I and the history of doing Cajun music on the radio which led up to Cajun Radio going on the air.

Today, Keith Frank aka "The Zydeco Boss" celebrates his birthday! Keith has dedicated his life to playing and promoting Cajun, Creole and Zydeco music.

Cajun Radio and Mike Soileau will make a big concert announcement tomorrow morning September 20th, 2013 at 8:15 a.m.  It will involve two of the biggest names in Cajun and Zydeco music!

Cajun Radio was born on March 7th, 2005 with the vision of being the first all Cajun, Swamp pop and Zydeco radio station in southwest Louisiana. It had been the vision of Dave Soileau for years and in March of 2005 it came true. Dave, my dad, was a big supporter of Cajun music and loved promoting the culture, heritage and language. About a month ago, I was asked by the Cajun French Music Association to do a commercial with legendary Cajun and Country artist Jo-El Sonnier for the CFMA festival that is coming up on July 19th thru 21st in Lake Charles. Thought you would like to see it so here ya go.

On Thursday November 1st, Grammy award winner Chubby Carrier stopped by the Cajun radio studio's to talk about his brand new CD "Rockin' with Roy". Chubby has toured all of the country and in this interview we talk about how Cajun and Zydeco music is received outside of Louisiana.
