Dateline NBC just aired a one hour special on the abduction and murder of Mickey Shunick from Lafayette Louisiana. In the show, never before seen video footage was aired of Brandon Scott Lavergne confessing to the murder of Mickey Shunick and what happened that terrible night.  Here is that video.

The case of the missing University of Louisiana Lafayette student Mickey Shunick will be the featured story on NBC's Dateline this Tuesday night January 29th.

Just when we thought the story had ended, a new twist -- Brandon Scott Lavergne, the killer of UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick has changed his mind about his guilty pleas and is now claiming he was pressured into making his plea deal.

As we reported last week, Brandon Lavergne was indicted by a grand jury in Lafayette for the first degree murder of the still-missing Mickey Shunick. But in a shocking twist in the case, Lavergne was also charged with the first degree murder of Lisa Pate, an Acadia Parish woman who was found dead in 1999. Now the Lafayette Parish District attorney is saying that both cases may be tried together.

Brandon Lavergne, who is accused of first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the disappearance of Mickey Shunick, now has a court date.

Brandon Lavergne has been arrested by the Lafayette Police for Aggravated Kidnapping and one count of First degree Murder in the case of missing person Mickey Shunick. The report is coming from our sister station 97.3 The Dawg in Lafayette...

Details are still scarce, but Lafayette media outlets are reporting that an arrest has been made in the case of missing 22-year-old Mickey Shunick. 6:15 p.m. UPDATE On the arrest.
