Tonight there are several lake area teams that will fight for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals next week.

The high school football season is starting week seven tonight. Tonight you can listen to the Barbe or Jennings high school football games here and we will have all the live play by play here on Cajun Radio.

It's week six of the high school football season already! Tonight, the Jennings Bulldogs and the Barbe Buc's will both be in action and we will have the live play by play here on Cajun Radio.

The Barbe game tonight against New Iberia will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. tonight. You can listen to all the action tonight here on Cajun Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Tune into either 1470 or 1290 Am's or listen live below.

Barbe will travel across town for a rare Thursday night game and will take on the St. Louis Saints tonight at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at the old Lake Charles Boston Cougar stadium on 1st avenue in Lake Charles.

  Barbe High School had a football season to remember in 2012 making it all the way to the state championship in New Orleans.  One of the main reasons for there success came off the foot of Senior place kicker Jamie McGee who holds 14 of the possible 15 Barbe High School kicking records. It was a terrific year for the Barbe Bucs football team led by second year head coach Mike Cutrera.  Coach Cutrera lead the Bucs to a 13-2 record this season and the team reached the state championship game for only the second time in school history. Ironically, Mike Cutrera played on the other team that reached the championship game in 1980.

The Barbe Bucs will face Archbishop Rummel for the 5A State Championship this Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. We have found out that the game will NOT BE Televised live but don't worry Barbe fans.  We have you covered!

It's finally here.  The big 5-A semi-final high school football playoff game between the #3 seeded West Monroe Rebels and #2 seeded Barbe Buccaneers is tonight here in Lake Charles.
