Old Yesterdays Location to Become a Walk-On’s Franchise

You may have seen them in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette or Houma, but now we're getting one in Lake Charles. The Advocate reports that the old location of Yesterdays on Common Street is set to become the first franchisee of Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar.

Clarence “CO” Vallet will open a Walk-On’s at 5313 Common St., just south of McNeese State University.

Vallet, who has 35 years of experience in the service industry, said he first became aware of Walk-On’s about a year ago. “I couldn’t be more convinced that it’s an ideal fit for Lake Charles,” he said.

About 120 people are expected to work at the restaurant. -- The Advocate

The company was formed by two former walk-ons of the LSU basketball team, Jack Warner and Brandon Landry in 2001. In 2012, Walk-On's was called the "#1 Sports Bar in America" by ESPN, according to the Walk-On's website.

No word on a local timetable for opening.
