McNeese State Cowboys Can Still Win The Southland Championship

One loss does not knock the Pokes out of the Southland Conference Championship. It does put pressure on the team to win the rest of their conference games though.

Looking back to 2010 you will find that only two teams won the conference with undefeated records. They were Southeastern last year and Sam Houston in 2011. You will also find that three conference champions did it with one loss. Sam Houston, Central Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin.

There are three teams so far this year that have not lost a conference game. They are Southeastern, Central Arkansas and Sam Houston. There are three teams with one loss. They are McNeese, Stephen F. Austin and Northwestern.

Central Arkansas and Southeastern play this Saturday so one of them will have a loss. Sam Houston ends the season against Central Arkansas on November 22nd.

The Cowboys could also deal Southeastern  a loss on November 15th. So there is a lot of football left and it is way too early to count the cowboys out.
