The fifth ranked LSU Tigers baseball team were stunned last night in Beaumont Texas as they lost to the Lamar Cardinals.  The Tigers and the Cardinals both went into the game undefeated and both were looking to stay perfect on the season.

Lamar hit a two run single in the bottom of the 8th inning and took the lead 12-11 and went on to shock the LSU baseball team and hand the Tigers their first loss of the year.

Lamar who is part of the Southland Conference where the McNeese Cowboys also reside in are now an impressive 5-0 on the year.  The Cardinals will now host North Dakota State for a three game series this weekend in Beaumont.

The Tigers drop to 3-1 on the year and after that loss will surely drop in the polls.  LSU will head back home to take on Sacramento State at Alex Box Stadium in Baton for three games.
