The Lake Charles Police Department will be conducting a seat belt checkpoint somewhere in the city.  The checkpoint begins at 4:00 p.m. and lasts until 9:00 p.m. tonight.

In conjunction with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, the Lake Charles Police Department will be conducting seatbelt checkpoints on May 1, 2014 and May 7, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at an undisclosed location inLake Charles. This enforcement is due to a passenger truck campaign that the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission has set to encourage all drivers of motor vehicles to wear their seatbelt.
