Details have recently been revealed about an incident that occurred in January of 2024. Muleshoe, Texas and their water supply was illegally accessed by a Russian group. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

Muleshoe Hacked At The Beginning Of The Year

Per The Daily Mail, A Russian group, identifying themselves as Cyber Army of Russia Reborn, invaded the Muleshoe water supply. A video provided by the news organization, showing how they did so:

Due to this invasion, the town of Muleshoe was placed into a state of emergency. This was due to the fact of the overflowing water tower, which also resulted in losses of gallons of water.

This also isn't the first time the group known as Cyber Army of Russia struck Texas towns with virtual attacks.

Further Attacks From The Cyber Army Of Russia On Texas

The Daily Mail revealed that Abernathy, Hale Center and Lockney revealed that they were attacked as well. But for those towns, they made the decision to deactivate the application that handled water in their respective areas. They also reported that no issues occurred with their water supplies after the precautionary measures.

Cyber Army of Russia has also attacked other parts of the world as revealed by the Daily Mail. Other times the group was able to cause issues happened in 2017, with the group shutting down a safety system in Chernobyl and disrupting the South Korea Olympics Opening Ceremonies in 2018.
