CHURCH POINT, La. (KPEL News) - Two people have been arrested in connection to a June 26 ATM robbery at a Church Point bank.

According to Church Point Police, twenty-three-year-old Brennan Jean-batiste of Breaux Bridge and 19-year-old Jakavon Jermaine Sam of Arnaudville were arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

  • Theft or Criminal Access of Automatic Teller Bond 250,000.00

Jean Batiste and Sam face charges of Theft or criminal access of an ATM, theft, illegal possession of stolen goods, and resisting an office by providing false information.

Police say the two suspects caused extreme damage to the ATM device but were unable to access the money in the machine.

The Maurice Police Department later located and detained the suspects' vehicle and its occupants until the Church Point Police Department could arrive.

After further investigation parts from the ATM Machine were in the bed of the vehicle.

The Church Point Police Department is working with other agencies where the same incidents have occurred with the same clothing and vehicle descriptions. Brennan Jean Batiste was also wanted for crimes he was suspected of committing in Texas. Warrants have also been issued out of other jurisdictions for the two suspects.

Church Point Police want to remind the public that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
