Someone in Louisiana is $3 Million Richer After Hitting Mega Millions Lottery Jackpot

There is someone in Louisiana waking up this morning a newly-minted millionaire after hitting a lottery jackpot.

Officials with the Louisiana Lottery have confirmed that someone in Baldwin, Louisiana purchased a Mega Millions ticket that hit a $3 million jackpot!

The winning ticket was sold at One Stop Convenience located at 310 Main Street in Baldwin.

The lucky lottery player was so close to the $489 million grand prize jackpot. They were just one number short.

The winning ticket got all five of the white balls correct and had the MGPlier on, which in this case multiplied the $1 million by three, thus, a $3 million win. The player was just missing the yellow ball.

The next drawing for Mega Millions will be on Friday, November 29, 2024. The jackpot will increase to $514 million (advertised annuity) with a cash value of $241 million.

This latest big-money win in the Mega Millions drawing continues a hot winning streak in the Acadiana area.

On October 8, someone won $10,000 on a ticket bought at Nu Nu's Fresh Market in Youngsville. The same amount was won by someone who purchased a ticket at the Shop Rite on University Avenue in Lafayette back on September 24.

The Powerball has also been good to Louisiana players of late as well. On November 9, a $50,000 winning ticket was purchased at Albertson's #719 on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette.

Three days before that, someone won $100,000 on a ticket purchased at Corner Too in New Iberia

The next Powerball drawing takes place tonight (Wed, Nov. 27) with the jackpot at $196 million (advertised annuity) or $90.7 million (cash value).
