Louisiana State Police officials investigated a deadly crash that took a motorcyclist Thursday, January 23, on Louisiana Highway 27.

According to Louisiana State Police Trooper First Class, Peggy Bourque, with the Public Affairs Section they were called out to the scene of the crash at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon to find a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

As they began investigating, they found that a 50-year-old man was driving his motorcycle south on Louisiana Highway 27 when it crossed the centerline of the roadway. They do not know the reason he crossed the line but his motorcycle collided with a vehicle going in the opposite direction.

Bourque says Walter Clinton of Leesville was fatal injured and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle and the occupants in his vehicle were all wearing seatbelts and the driver was the only one injured. He had minor injuries

As is standard in a fatality crash routine blood samples were taken for analysis to determine any toxicology. The samples were sent to a lab. Bourque says State Police officials continue to investigate the fatal crash.
