Bojangles, a fast-food restaurant famous for its Southern-style fried chicken, has opened its first location in the Acadiana area.

The doors of Bojangles restaurant #523 swung open at 6 a.m. on Monday morning, June 5, at Love's truck stop in Duson, Louisiana, just off Interstate 10.

Bojangles has long been a beloved chain throughout the South, and this new opening marks an exciting expansion into the Acadiana region. Prior to this location, Bojangles had only two other restaurants in Louisiana, located in Ruston and Monroe. The arrival of Bojangles in Duson brings their mouthwatering menu of fried chicken, made-from-scratch biscuits, and flavorful sides to local residents and travelers passing through the area.

Leading up to the grand opening, Bojangles had actively advertised job opportunities, seeking individuals to join their team in an "upbeat, fast-paced, and fun work environment."

Bojangles' history dates back to 1977 when Richard Thomas and Jack Fulk founded the restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina. Inspired by the flavors of Southern cuisine and a desire for quick service, they named their restaurant "Bojangles" after the popular song "Mr. Bojangles." Since then, the chain has steadily grown and established itself as a prominent player in the fast-food industry.

With its signature Cajun-seasoned fried chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits prepared every 20 minutes, Bojangles has garnered a loyal following. Their menu also features a range of delicious sides, including seasoned fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and their famous Bo-Berry Biscuits.

Bojangles' dedication to quality ingredients, unique flavors, and friendly service has made it a favorite among fried chicken enthusiasts across the South and they aim to hit the same mark here in the Acadiana area.

We welcome them to the community and wish them the best of luck.
