LAFAYETTE, La. (KMDL-FM) - There seems to be some confusion regarding one specific thing at the new Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium, home of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team.

A New Era for Cajun Field

Of course, as we all know, the old stadium was torn down a couple of seasons back, and the renovations have been in full force ever since, just in time for the 2025 season.

Many of us fans have been watching the progress through photos and videos posted by the construction company, fans, and the UL Athletic Department. It's been a lot of fun watching it all come together.

Fans Spot Something ‘Off’ in Turf Photo

But there was a post recently of the newly installed turf that had fans a bit up in arms and seemingly quite confused. It's simply a shot of the field and home side, shot from the visitors' side.

Looks great, but what's the big stink?

Well, real simple. The logo is flipped. Instead of facing the home side, it's facing the visitors' side.

Fans on social media were not quite understanding why the change was made.

"Is the logo facing the wrong way?"

Why the Ragin’ Cajuns Logo Faces the Visitors’ Side

Nope, it's not. The logo is positioned exactly as it should be — facing the TV cameras.

Last year, the logo was actually upside down on television. The old turf was still in place, but the home side was under construction, and the cameras were positioned on the visitors' side (as will be the case moving forward).

Cameras are now permanently located on the east side. In time, there will be a new tower built on that side.

At last we heard that the building will house the press, radio, TV, coaches' booths, visiting AD suite, and all administrative offices.

Press and Media Tower Coming in 2026

As of now, that construction is scheduled to begin at the end of the 2026 season. So, for the next two seasons, you will still see those temporary press boxes on that side of the field.

TV cameras will continue to stay on that side, shooting onto the "right side up" facing Ragin' Cajuns logo.

First Game at the New Stadium Set for August 30

Don't forget, your first chance to see the new Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium will be Saturday, August 30, at 7:00 pm when the Cajuns host the Rice Owls to open the 2025 season.
