Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff Concert in New Orleans Has Been Canceled
The Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff that was planned for August 31, 2024, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana has been canceled.
Organizers of the event did give a reason for the cancellation, but simply posted the following on the Ticketmaster site:
"Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event."
Why was the 2024 Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff Canceled?
While we don't know for sure, we'd speculate that the cancellation was due to lower-than-optimal ticket sales. A look at the seat availability on the Ticketmaster site showed, in our opinion, less than half of the stadium sold.
How Will Refunds be Given for the 2024 Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff?
At any rate, the show is not going on and ticketholders will receive refunds. Ticketmaster posted there is no action needed by those with tickets.
They'll issue refunds to the original method of payment, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. They went on to say that those refunds should appear on ticketholders' Ticketmaster accounts within 14-21 days.
It was also noted that if tickets were transferred to you, then the refund would go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.
The 2024 Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff was to feature Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, and Ashley McBryde.
This was to be the second year of the Labor Day weekend event. Last year's inaugural show featured Garth Brooks, Lainey Wilson, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
