The last time the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game reported a jackpot win was on January 31st of this year. That was up until last night's drawing at 10 pm Louisiana time. Officials with the Mega Millions game have confirmed that a single ticket sold for the drawing last night matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize of $476,000,000.

Here is how last night's Mega Millions drawing unfolded.

The Mega Millions website confirms that the numbers drawn were:

23   27   41   48   51  Mega Ball 22  Megaplier  x2

In addition to last night's jackpot win the drawing also produced two $1,000,000 winners with Match 5. Those tickets were sold in Illinois and Massachusetts. Match 5 results in a one million dollar prize when the ticket matches all of the numbers except for the Mega Ball. Now, if the ticket qualifies for a Match 5 win and they opted in on the Megaplier then it's $1,000,000 times whatever the Megaplier number would be.

Last night's drawing produced 21 tickets worth $10,000 and another four tickets worth $20,000. Unfortunately none of the big money prize winners were sold in Louisiana. The largest prize claimed by a Louisiana ticket from last night's game were two $1,000 prizes and another four $500 winners.

The New York Post is reporting that the big money winner, the ticket that's worth $476 million was sold in a New York City area convenience store. The Liberty Beer and Convenience located in Ozone Park in Queens will also be getting a nice stipend from the game.

The store that sells the winning ticket is compensated but that compensation varies from state to state. And it also varies by the amount of money that was won by the ticket purchaser.

As far as your next chance to be an instant millionaire, that will come in tonight's Powerball drawing should you choose to play. The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $219 million for tonight. We always say estimated because we don't know exactly how many tickets will be sold before the drawing, but that's the speculation on how much you could win.

As always we remind you that most lottery tickets sold are not winners. Only play with money you can afford to lose. If you need help with a gambling problem please call 1- 877-770- STOP (7867). You will be connected with qualified counseling services that can offer the assistance that you need.
