New Montessori Academy Opening Soon in Scott
SCOTT, La. (KMDL-FM) - A brand-new preschool in Scott, which is wrapping up construction, is set to open before the end of the year.
Construction crews are putting the finishing touches on Little Light of Mine Montessori Academy, located at 541 L Provost Road.
Inside the New Montessori Academy
The 9600 square foot state-of-the-art building will be the first pre-primary Montessori School in Lafayette Parish.
Faith-Based Learning Meets Montessori Method
With a capacity of 181 children, the school combines the Montessori method with a faith-based foundation, focusing on independence, respect, and hands-on learning.
Classrooms Divided by Age
Children will be divided into the school by age as follows:
- 18 Month - 2-Year-Old Room
- 2-Year-Old Room
- 3-Year-Old Room
- 4-Year-Old Room
Meet the Founders
Founders Dillon and Chrystal Quebedeaux told us that the school will employ certified teachers, assistant teachers, and floaters. Their lower child-to-staff ratio will ensure that every child gets the attention they deserve for effective learning.
Open House Scheduled in Scott
The school will be holding an open house so the public can get a first-hand look at the new facility. This will take place on Thursday, September 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At the open house, they will be showcasing some of their unique rooms and giving tours of the building. The Quebedeauxs say they'll also have some Montessori materials for the kids to explore and perhaps even a special guest appearance.
