LOUISIANA (KMDL-FM) - As we roll into Thanksgiving Day 2025, many kitchens around Louisiana will be bustling with cooking traditional Thanksgiving meals, but not all.

While the majority of local Acadiana and Louisiana restaurants will be closed on Thanksgiving Day 2025, you're certainly not out of luck if your Thanksgiving Day tends to be a little traditional than others.

Here's the list of restaurants around Lafayette, Youngsville, New Iberia, Breaux Bridge, and the entire state of Louisiana that are reporting they'll be open for business Thanksgiving Day, 2025.

What Restaurants Are Open Thanksgiving Day 2025?

When it comes to non-traditional holiday traditions, my family has always loved our tradition inspired by "A Christmas Story" where we eat lunch at one of the many great Chinese buffets around Lafayette.

For Thanksgiving, we're a little more traditional with the turkey, rice dressing, smothered green beans, etc, but maybe your Thanksgiving is traditional not traditional. If that's the case, you've plenty of options to grab a delicious meal on Thanksgiving Day.

Restaurants reporting to be open Thanksgiving 2025:

Mel’s Diner (Broussard)

Piccadilly (Lafayette – Arnould Blvd)

Ruth’s Chris Steak House (Lafayette)

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (Lafayette)

The above restaurants will be open and serving traditional Thanksgiving meals if you're still wanting turkey and fixings, but if you won't be looking for anything traditional, you'll have multiple other options.
