Lovers of live music in Louisiana must be feeling pretty giddy these days. Louisiana is in the midst of a huge spring lineup of concerts. It was just announced yesterday (2.22.24) that multi-award winner Jellyroll will be playing shows in Lafayette and New Orleans later this year. Lafayette also has confirmed dates with Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley too.

To Quote the Late Billy Mays "But Wait, There's More"

For many of us, the concert experience is enhanced when it's outside. That's why so many of us make the trek to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion in the Woodlands, Texas, or to The Wharf, the outside amphitheater in Gulf Shores. There is something about live music under the stars that completes the mood.

If you're a music lover in Louisiana we've got good news about yet another outdoor venue that promises "big stars" when it officially opens in April of 2024. The venue has signed a booking deal with a major talent broker who promises a "stellar lineup of A-level national artists".

When Will the Sound Amphitheater on I-10 Open?

Billboards along I-10 in coastal Mississippi suggest that the Sound Amphitheater, a partnership with the city of Gautier, will open in April of this year. The opening act for the 7,000-seat facility has not been announced. That announcement is expected to come next week on February 27th.

Those familiar with the Mississippi Gulf Coast might recall the former Singing River Mall. The location of that former shopping facility is where the Sound Amphitheater is located. If you need better directions the amphitheater is located along Dolphin Drive just north of Belk.

The former mall location means the facility should have plenty of parking for the thousands of music lovers who will no doubt want to check this facility out. We should be able to report to you more detailed information about who is scheduled to perform after next week's opening act is announced.

Oh, and one more thing, on your way to the new Sound Amphitheater in Gautier, Mississippi, you'll pass right by the new location of Buc-ee's on I-10. It won't be open for a few more months but you could make a weekend out of it. Do a show one night, Buc-ee's the next night, what a time to be alive, right?

We have festivals for just about everything in Louisiana, but there are still quite a few great ideas out there.
