To give folks in Louisiana a visual of just how much a "billion of anything" is let's put it in terms of rice. Louisiana people know rice, right? If you had a billion grains of rice you could basically fill up an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Now, if you had a grain of rice for every dollar you could win playing the Powerball game on Wednesday night, you'd probably need two pools because the Powerball game did not get a jackpot winner on Monday night.

Now, just because Powerball did not produce a Louisiana jackpot or a Texas jackpot winner doesn't mean that lottery players in those two states are waking up empty-handed this morning. We'll take a look at the prize breakdown after you watch last night's Powerball drawing.

As you saw on the video when the ping pong balls dropped about 10 p.m. last night the Powerball top prize was reported to be $1,565,000,000. The numbers that were drawn for last night's game were:

16   34   46   55   67   Powerball 14  Power Play x3

You can verify those numbers at the official Powerball website. That same site confirms there were no tickets sold across the game's footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim the over $1.5 billion top prize.

There was one Match 5 winner who earned $2 million for matching all five of the white balls and having the Power Play option included. That ticket was sold in Florida. There were another four tickets that were worth $1 million this morning. Those tickets did the Match 5 but did not have the Power Play included. Those tickets were sold in California, Indiana, Oregon, and Virginia.

The Texas Lottery was home to a lot of big-money winners in last night's drawing. The Texas Lottery has confirmed there were four tickets sold in the Lone Star State that matched four of five with the Powerball and the Power Play. Those tickets are worth $150,000. There were also a dozen other $50,000 winners sold in Texas for last night's Powerball game.

If you live in South Louisiana, do you recognize that store? That store is the store that sold the largest lottery prize-winning ticket in Louisiana for Monday's Powerball. That store is the Piggly Wiggly on US 182 in Opelousas. That store sold a $50,000 winner for Monday's Powerball.

That means in the last 10 days there have been big-money lottery winners confirmed in Lafayette, Saint Martinville, Scott, and now Opelousas. And if you think of the Powerball game like horseshoes we could also include a big win in Houma from over the weekend. That ticket is worth $1,000,000.00.

The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday night at 10 p.m. Louisiana time. By rule, all ticket sales must cease at least one hour before the drawing. The jackpot in that game is an estimated $1.725 billion dollars. Meanwhile, tonight's Mega Millions top prize is $20 million. That game is starting a new jackpot since there was a winning ticket sold in Texas that claimed the game's top prize of $360 million this past Friday night.
