Krewe of Dolly Will Celebrate with a Celebration of Life Second Line

(New Orleans) - The passing of American icon Dolly Parton is still reverberating around the world, and in New Orleans, the Krewe of Dolly plans to give the singer a huge celebration of life event with a second-line.

What Is the Krewe of Dolly?

Back in 2020, some ladies who loved Dolly Parton got together to form a krewe so they could be around like-minded Dolly-loving ladies. According to Sarah Post, who told our affiliate Louisiana Radio Network, they formed it with a group of friends, and it wasn't until later that their membership soared.

Whether it's the music, the acting, or the millions of books that Dolly Parton has given away, there are people who look to Dolly for inspiration.

Imagine when the group decided to open their krewe to new members in 2022; very quickly, 178 ladies joined, and now the organization boasts more than 700 members.

Get-togethers, parties, and Mardi Gras are full of the ladies who love Dolly. And of course, these ladies all support and promote Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

This foundation has given out tons of books to students in New Orleans, and with more support coming online in other parts of the state, there is hope that the Imagination Library can branch out to other Louisiana cities.
