It seems like we are FLYING through the first month of 2025 and so is the NEW music as we return with the hottest R&B in East Texas this week!
Inside this week's edition of That New New R&B Podcast, we welcome the return of one of the biggest selling guy groups in R&B history, a Grammy Award winning songstress and a collaboration between a Southern Soul superstar and an ICON in hip hop.
Jagged Edge - Just Might Get It
After a 5 year hiatus since their last album, Jagged Edge is kicking off 2025 with brand new music that's starting to bubble out of the ATL titled "Just Might Get It". The guys still sound fantastic and I'm sure they are planning some things this year as they continue to tour.
Next up, a Grammy winner out of New Orleans who consistently drops amazing R&B songs that stand the test of time.
Ledisi - Love You Too
We're probably jumping the gun here but we couldn't wait to play this one for yall! Ledisi has a ton of hits including "Pieces Of Me", "I Blame You" and "Anything For You" and now she's coming out with another soon to be smash that she can add to her catalog called "Love You Too".
You'll be able to hear her song in its entirety inside the pod episode below but next up is a song that sees one of Southern Soul's biggest stars get an assist from The Doggfather himself.
King George Feat. Snoop Dogg - Unbelievable
Snoop Dogg acquired "Death Row Records" in 2022 and at the start of 2025, he released a compilation album called "Death Row Revue" featuring artists he's signed to the label including Southern Soul superstar King George who Snoop is a big fan of.
They dropped off the smash hit "Unbelievable" as a way to introduce KG to a larger audience as he continues to breakthrough to the mainstream.
