Eight Weekend Events To Be A Part Of In East Texas – September 27

(Mix 93-1) The first full weekend of Fall is here, y'all! The first couple of days of fall felt very summer-like, but thanks to the cool front that moved through, along with the rain, on Wednesday, it was a welcome sight for many here in East Texas. This weekend is shaping up to be quite gorgeous.

This is the final weekend for a couple of big fairs taking place across the Piney Woods - the East Texas Fair in Tyler and the Titus County Fair in Mount Pleasant. So, if you've been craving fair food - funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade, turkey leg, corn dog, or even salt water taffy, this is your last weekend to indulge in it calorie-free! Well, not really, but we could only wish, though.

East Texas Fair - Tyler

East Texas State Fairgrounds - Tyler

It's fair time in East Texas. This year's fair will feature Sea Lion Splash, pig races, goat mountain, chick hatchings, dairy demo, and many other demonstrations from vendors and local farmers. There will be live music nightly in addition to all of your fair food favorites and carnival rides.

The East Texas State Fair is held at The Park at East Texas on Hwy. 64 W, outside of Loop 323 in Tyler.

Titus County Fair - Mt. Pleasant

Wednesday through Saturday
Titus County Civic Center - Mt. Pleasant

This is the 50th anniversary of the Titus County Fair. This fair features a livestock show, numerous contests, commercial exhibits, youth academic contests, carnival rides, food, and musical entertainment.
