Dexter is a recent arrival at the Humane Society's Pets Fur People in Tyler. Dexter arrived on August 1st after being found abandoned on a busy East Texas highway. There is simply no excuse for anyone to abandon such a beautiful animal with hopes of it fending for itself when a dog like this relies upon its human owner to love, feed, and care for it.

Dexter is a 4-year-old Welsh Corgi and Pug mix. He is a cute small dog with a beautiful cream and red coat with a permanent happy-go-lucky smile on his face thanks to the black coloring around his mouth.

Pets Fur People's executive director Gayle Helms says Dexter is ready for a family to call his own and would be a wonderful addition to a family with children.

Dexter is fully vetted and weighs 22 pounds. Dexter will go home with a starter kit of food, a collar, and a leash.

For additional information on adopting Dexter call 903.597.2471 or check the Humane Society’s Pets Fur People website. Pets Fur People requires a completed adoption application before arranging a meet and greet. Check out the animals that are available for adoption. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 am until 5 pm - closed for lunch 1-2 pm. The Humane Society’s Pets Fur People is the only brick-and-mortar no-kill shelter in East Texas. Pets Fur People offers routine vaccinations, except for rabies, to the public for dogs and cats. Follow Pets Fur People on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please be a responsible pet owner - spay or neuter your pets. Donations are appreciated.
