The New Orleans Pelicans have had a wild week. The team has been wheeling and dealing with trades, and using those trades to work their NBA draft plans around. Over the last couple of weeks, the team has basically rebuilt their depth chart, using both trades and draft picks.

During this wild run of transactions, the Pelicans were able to snag two draft picks in the first 13 picks of the NBA Draft. Which gave them a chance to make even more noise.

The Pels were able to snag Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears with the 7th pick, and Maryland center/power forward Derik Queen with the 13th overall pick. While people spent a ton of time arguing over whether or not the Pelicans gave up too much to get the spot to draft Queen, its really hard to not get excited about what this pair could do for New Orleans.

But the on-court talent of Fears isn't the only thing that fans are excited about right now. Because he could be on the verge of having one of the best jerseys in NBA history.

Jeremiah Fears Pelicans Jersey Could Do Numbers

While playing at Oklahoma, Fears wore a number that made him an instant fan favorite. He took the court wearing #0...

So Fears took the floor wearing a #0 Fears jersey every night...a jersey that could be read as "zero fears".

Now, as a New Orleans Pelican, Fears has a chance to transition a "zero fears" jersey to the big time. With all of the different versions of Pelicans jerseys made every season, and how well they're done, this could move a lot of jerseys.

Can NBA Teams Have #00 and #0 On The Same Team?

However...if the team, and NBA, want to see "zero fears" jerseys all over Louisiana, and the rest of the country, there's might have to be a change with the current roster. Because Bruce Brown is currently wearing #00, which may prevent Fears from wearing #0 for New Orleans.

But maybe there's a way around that. Because in the history of the NBA, there are numerous examples of where teams have had both #0 and #00 play at the same time. For example, the Portland Trailblazers who had Damian Lillard wearing #0, and Enes Kanter wearing #00...

These two were allowed to run up and down the floor at the same time, both wearing versions of number zero. In fact, since the year 2000, you can count over a dozen examples of players being given both #0 and #00 by the same team, in the same season.

So Fears and Brown could both roll out version of number zero jerseys for the Pelicans. But to be honest, the Brown #00 doesn't carry the same excitement as the Fears #0, or zero fears, jersey does.

Keep an eye on out the Pelicans official website to see what Fears is assigned.
