Caddo Deputies Arrest Man for Robbing a Teenager at Gunpoint
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Dallas man following an armed robbery near Jersey Gold Road in Keithville.
Deputies responded to a report of an 18 year-old man who showed up at a home wearing only underwear, claiming he had been shot at and robbed. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he received treatment for moderate injuries and was later released.
The victim stated he was given a ride by 32 year-old Traymill Cherry, who is a family friend of the victim. He told CPSO that Cherry drove him to an ATM and attempted to force him to withdraw money from his account.
When the victim told Cherry that he did not have his bank card, they left the area. Cherry allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and demanded that he take off his clothes to prove he did not have the card. The victim did what Cherry said, and stripped down to his underwear. Cherry took the victim's phone and attempted to transfer money to himself.
The victim managed to escape by opening the car door and jumping from the moving vehicle. As he fled, he reported hearing a gunshot fired before running to the home for help.
Deputies were able to swiftly locate the vehicle matching the victim's description at a house on Jersey Gold Road. CPSO located Cherry at the home and arrested him. Cherry was taken to to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division for questioning.
From CPSO:
"After further investigation by Detective Matt Purgerson, Cherry was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery and was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges.
