From Texas Hero To Controversy: Justin Tucker’s NFL Suspension

Sometimes it's the person you least expect. Or as the old saying goes "it's always the quiet ones". In this case, it's the kicker you least expect.

A Texas Longhorn Path To Baltimore

Former Texas Longhorns' kicker Justin Tucker has put together a Hall of Fame level career in the NFL. After spending four years at Texas, Tucker was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. He immediately paid off for the Ravens, hitting 100% of his extra points, and 30 of his 33 field goal attempts his rookie season.

He would go on to set NFL records (Longest NFL Field Goal at 66 yards, and Highest Career Field Goal Percentage), won a Super Bowl, was named an All-Pro 5 times, made 7 Pro Bowl teams, and was named to the NFL All-Decade Team.

Justin Tucker's Serious Allegations

But that all came crashing down earlier in 2025, when Tucker was faced with serious allegations.

In January, a story from the Baltimore Banner said that numerous massage therapists had come forward to accuse Tucker of inappropriate conduct. The therapists stated that their accusations date back to 2012. These are all accusations that Tucker has strongly, and repeatedly, denied.

The report of the sexual misconduct has not resulted in any charges against Tucker, and he has not been arrested. But the NFL decided to conduct their own investigation into these allegations.

The Baltimore Ravens Release Justin Tucker

One of the first results of this investigation was the release of Tucker from the Baltimore Ravens, which happened in May. But now, the NFL has made their move after concluding their investigation.

Justin Tucker Suspended by the NFL

The NFL will be suspending Tucker for 10 games for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy. Tucker will reportedly be allowed to serve this suspension as a free agent, and then would be able to sign with any NFL team and pick up as of Week 11 in the 2025 NFL season.

There's no word right now on if any NFL team would be willing to bring Tucker in, including if the Ravens would be willing to welcome him back. All we know right now, is that Tucker won't be able to play in the first 10 weeks of this upcoming NFL season.
