East Texas Comic Con Brings Stars to Longview This Summer
Although there's not an official "comic con season" written down by academics, or passed into law by a governing body, most fans of these type of events have a general idea of the concept. The general idea of "comic con season" is pretty centered up on San Diego Comic Con International, which takes place in July. So a lot of people consider the season to start around June 1st (or a little before), and go into September (maybe even late September). This is supported by the large number of comic con style events that take place across the United States in the summer months.
The Ark-La-Tex Develops Its Own Comic Con Season
For the Ark-La-Tex, it feels like "comic con season" is taking shape.
This year will be the 10th year of Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, which has become the leading comic con style event in North Louisiana. In fact, its become one of the leading coimc con style events in the state.
Geek'd Con takes place annually in August, which falls in "comic con season". Then you have other Ark-La-Tex comic con style events that are landing in the same "season", helping to build a full menu for local fans. Events like Hypecon in Texarkana, who just celebrated their 4th show to kick off June. Or one of the newer events to land in the Ark-La-Tex, East Texas Comic Con.
East Texas Comic Con is hosting their second event this year. Running from June 28th through June 29th. The event will take place in Longview, Texas at the Longview Exhibit Center. The event is billed as a traditional comic con style event, with vendors, cosplay, gaming, and celebrity guests. Tickets for the event are available now.

The guest lineup for East Texas Comic Con is pretty impressive for a 2nd year event. Headlined by a prolific Anime voice, a horror icon, and a Pro Wrestling Hall of Famer. Here's a quick rundown of their announced guests for 2025:
