The City of Lake Charles, Partners in Parks Initiative, and Project Build a Future are teaming up to host a special outdoor event for the whole family to enjoy. If you like to fish, you won't want to miss Free Fishing Fun in the Park. This fun-filled expedition is set for Saturday, April 1, 2023, and is open to everyone in the community.

This event will occur from 9:30 am to 11 am at the newly renovated Riverside Park at 1701 Fitzenreiter Road in Lake Charles. This is the perfect place to make a good catch, so bring enough bait!  In collaboration with Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists, Calcasieu Parish Public Library, and Contraband Fly Casters, attendees will enjoy the following:

- Hands-on fishing lessons

- Learn more about the fish and other native species that live in Riverside Park and the Calcasieu River.

- Play a variety of interactive games and win prizes.

- Free refreshments

This is guaranteed to be enjoyable for the entire family. So, save the date!
