Calcasieu Parish School Board Welcomes Students – Important Parent Information
School goes back into session on Friday, August 9 for the Calcasieu Parish School Board students this fall. As we begin the 24-25 school year in Southwest Louisiana, the safety of all CPSB students is a priority. Here are a few new things parents/guardians should know.
- In addition to the continued partnership with area law enforcement, security measures weapon detectors will be in place at all middle and high schools when students return.
- Though clear backpacks were discussed in the spring, they will not be mandatory at this time.
Students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge in our cafeterias. Weekly menus will be shared each Friday in our stories. You can also view them here at any time.
- All CPSB schools have a Uniform Policy, and parents/guardians are asked to get familiar with the guidelines so students transitioning back to school can have a seamless and productive year.
- Don't miss out on any communication from the school or district level.
- CPSB will utilize calls, texts, and occasionally emails to notify you of crises.
- Weather closures, important information, and more.
- Take a few minutes to visit the Student Progress Center and check or update your information.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Once again this school year, our students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge in our cafeterias. With school starting in just a few weeks, save this post to quickly access menus throughout the year. We'll also continue to share weekly menus each Friday in our stories. You can also view them here at any time.
- ESSER funds expiring nationwide. Families will need to provide necessary school supplies for students this school year. Many schools provide supply lists before summer, but if you need one please check your child's school's website or social media site for details.
- Supplies will still be provided for pre-kindergarten students through the Early Childhood Department. View school supply lists at the link.
- A new communication process has been implemented in the event of inclement weather going into the 24-25 school year
