Who Does The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Help?
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LiHEAP) helps around 6,000 SWLA residents annually.
Erika Garrison, assistant director for human services for the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, told the American Press:
This program helps individuals who may be facing a disruption in their utility services, they are able to come in based on income and apply for assistance.

LiHEAP Applications will be accepted in person (appointment needed):
- When: Fridays 8:00am to Noon - Nov. 14, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, and Dec. 19
