(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - A high school teacher from Sulphur High has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a child. We have all the details.

Patrick Seth Greene, 37, a special education teacher at Sulphur High School was arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting his wife and stabbing his 6-year-old stepson.

Louisiana Child Was Stabbed Multiple Times

The unsettling incident happened inside a house in Leonville, southeast of Opelousas. Greene is charged with assaulting deputies, seriously beating his wife, and stabbing his stepson multiple times in the neck, face, and chest.

The child was airlifted to a Baton Rouge trauma center. He was administered lifesaving surgeries and remains in critical condition. KADN is also reporting that the victim has a brain tumor.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office told the media:

Our Juvenile Detectives are actively investigating this incident and will be filing additional charges. Our profound sympathies are with the family and our prayers are for the young child.

Greene has been placed on administrative leave from his position at Sulphur High School pending the investigation.

He is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
