The City of Lake Charles is proud to announce the return of its annual Red, White, Blue & You Celebration on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The celebration includes a patriotic concert at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavilion with concessions, face painting, and a jaw-dropping fireworks display over the lake.

The program begins at 6:00 p.m. with patriotic sounds from Lake Charles Community Band’s 25-piece “Bayou Big Band.” Rusty Metoyer and the Zydeco Krush will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Metoyer is a Lake Charles native that has entertained crowds throughout the country and internationally. Metoyer has been immersed in Creole music since he was a child.

Sparks will fly beginning at 9:15 p.m. with a fireworks extravaganza choreographed to music. Spectators are encouraged to bring their blankets or lawn chairs. The Mayor's Armed Forces Commission Queens will be selling festival t-shirts. If inclement weather prevails, the program will be moved to the Civic Center Coliseum.

The City of Lake Charles is also excited to announce the winner of its Red, White, Blue & You logo design contest. Zoe Crawford, a student at SOWELA Technical Community College, was selected as this year’s winner. The logo design contest is a staple semester project under the direction of SOWELA instructor Darrell Buck.
