(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Residents of a city in Southern Louisiana city are reporting a huge law enforcement presence in their city this morning on social media.

KPLC is reporting that the Louisiana State Police have confirmed that they are assisting Homeland Security, FBI, IRS, and ICE with raids this morning.

They're also reporting that agents from the FBI and ICE were also observed entering Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle's residence.

Authorities also conducted a raid at Baton Rouge's Crowne Plaza Hotel, which was hosting the Louisiana Association of Police Chiefs Convention, according to KPLC sources. According to one source, the agents detained a number of people.

There are also reports of operations being conducted in Forrest Hill, LA as well.

The U.S. Attorney's Office will host a press conference in Lafayette on tomorrow at 10:00am to discuss the multiple joint operations across the state today.
