Starting on May 19, and running for four consecutive Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Downtown at Sundown will showcase some of the best local and regional talent, as well as some well-known headliners. Concertgoers can expect to hear a wide variety of musical styles, including rock, zydeco, pop, country, blues, and more.

This year's band line-up features a mix of established and up-and-coming artists that are sure to get the crowd dancing. Gregg Wright, King of the Rockin’ Blues, takes the stage on May 19. Wright is an inductee into the Louisiana Hall of Fame and a recipient of the 2019 “Living Legend” Blues Award. Mason Trail and Zydeco Rhythm will bring rich sounds of culture, history and passion to Downtown Lake Charles on May 26. Trail has been keeping the tradition of authentic zydeco music alive ever since he learned how to play the accordion at the age of 10. Lafayette-based musicians, Nicki & the People’s Victory will rock the crowd on June 2. Nicki Needham’s style reflects a taste of southern Americana with musical influences from her family. June 9 will close our summertime series with an opening set from Gino V. hailing from Lafayette. Gino V. has been pursuing his musical career since the age of 14. His style can be described as “funk flair with a rock and roll attitude.” Headlining the June 9 evening is SWLA’s Charlie Wayne Band. The Charlie Wayne Band was establish in 2017 and offers the crowd the perfect mix of country and rock.

Downtown at Sundown proudly dedicates the June 2 concert to our service men and women and the friends and family of the Fort Polk community. In addition, June 9 will be coined “Geaux Blue Friday,” as concert-goers are encouraged to sport their favorite McNeese State University apparel.

Downtown at Sundown is presented by the City of Lake Charles and supported by corporate sponsorships from CITGO Petroleum, Entergy, Erdace Companies, Visit Lake Charles, Lake Charles Toyota, Fuerst, Carrier and Ogden, First Horizon Bank, and Stockwell Sievert Law Firm.
